You don't want anyones swooshing sleeves or hair to catch fire. You can get attractive votive holders fairly inexpensively if you have no holders for tapers. Check the craft store for black or purple silk flowers. Fairy lights are always good for mood lighting- the purple sold at Halloween are best, but at this time of year you can get clear or red ones that will work for Goth. Black tulle, available at a fabric store, is cheap and good for draping over mirrors, doorways or whatever. Get some dead branches, spray paint them black, wrap the fairy lights around them, drape tulle over them.
