Question by rejection101: Room Design?
Im 16 years old, male
I need to pick colors or a design for the walls and ceiling
Im getting a futon which is dark red with black pillows
I wanted to get my walls and ceiling dark red with a black border on the edges…
my mom doesnt allow red and black
so i need a design.. i was also thinking something striped like gray and dark gray
but i dont want anything to look tacky
perhaps.. are there sites that have photos of different rooms with design for people my age
thanks

You can still have your walls be dark red, but I’d suggest that you paint the ceiling white. All red would make your room really tacky. Black, red and white would still look good. If you have some pictures or posters put them in some black frames. If you have some windows in your room you can get black curtains, that’ll make it look good too. But too much of anything would be overkill. Below is an image of a room I saw from the internet. Think about the furniture that you will have in that room too to make sure it matches and looks good.

Although it might imply that the focus is on the designers themselves, despite their larger-than-life personalities what comes through most strongly here is the practicality of actually getting the work done. The question whether anyone other than the designers themselves actually likes the results is as cheerfully up-in-the-a
